The Council has confirmed its list of planned road resurfacing work for 2015/16. This will see roads across York receive much needed improvement works.
These resurfacing works will improve the standard of the city’s roads. Smoother road surfaces will reduce wear and tear on vehicles, reduce fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
Cllr Keith Orrell, Councillor for Huntington and New Earswick said:
“We welcome the recent announcement of the roads across York that will be resurfaced over the next year. York’s roads have been long overdue these improvement works.
“The new administration has made frontline services across York our priority for the next 4 years. In our emergency budget last week we have provided an extra £250,000 towards road resurfacing across York. We will be seeing more improvements in York’s infrastructure like these over the next 4 years.”
Huntington Road is due to be resurfaced as part of this plan. The work is scheduled to take place between the 24th August and 4th September (this work will go from No.398 to the roundabout).
