The local elections in York saw a ‘hung’ Council with no party gaining an overall majority. The Liberal Democrats negotiated hard to secure a joint policy agreement with the Conservatives which we think will deliver for local residents.
As part of the new Lib Dem-Conservative Executive we are now working hard to protect the frontline services that matter to residents, devolve power to communities through new Ward Committees and make York the ‘Greenest City in the North’.
These are our priorities, but we want you to inform our long-term policy making as we look towards the next local elections in 2019 and beyond.
Cllr Chris Cullwick, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Huntington & New Earswick, said: “We want to know what your priorities are, what type of city you want to live in, and where you think Council money should be spent. It would be great to hear from as many residents across the city as possible.”
So, to tell us what you want for York and what priorities you think the Council should have please email us at: york2019@yorklibdems.org.uk
